Reviewing operation history

How to read and interpret an Account's operation history on Ledger Enterprise.

Role: Operators and Administrators.

An Account's Operations tab lists its activity: transfers in and out, staking activity and token movements. Signed messages are on the separate Messages tab.

Above the list, a section shows the transaction Requests on this Account that are still in progress. Its title gives their number, for example "2 ongoing transaction requests". Its columns are Type, Created, Approvals and On-chain status. The Operations tab name shows the number of these Requests. The section is hidden when there are none.

Reading the list

Operations are grouped by day and load as you scroll. The list has no filter and no sorting. Each row shows the operation, its recipient, the amount and its status, with a link to view it on a public block explorer.

Where the network has a confirmation threshold, an operation below it shows the status Confirming, followed by the confirmations received and the threshold. Otherwise, a pending operation shows its confirmation count when you hover over its status.

Operation details

Select a row to open its details:

  • The amount, and the status

  • From and To. A send shows the Account as From. A receive shows the sender address as From and the Account as To

  • The hash, and the fee paid

  • Network fields where they apply, such as the Ripple destination tag or the Stellar memo

  • The Request's approval history, where the operation came from a Request

  • The replacement, where a Bitcoin or Ethereum send was sped up or canceled. The original transaction shows as Replaced in the Request History

View in explorer opens the operation on a public block explorer.

When an operation fails

A failed operation shows the status Failed in the list. The Request it came from also shows an On-chain status, which reads Failed or Failed on-chain. The Request History gives a short reason. For most failures the reason is "The transaction failed during processing.", and the network's own error is not shown. To get the network's error, send the Request ID to Support. A transaction stopped by a security check has its own reason: "The transaction was stopped by a security check."

Failed means the transaction processing failed. Failed on-chain means the execution failed after on-chain submission, and the network can charge a fee.

What each status means and what to do is in Statuses and errors.

Important: A pending Request is not a pending transaction. A Request that has not reached its approval quorum has not touched the chain: see How governance works.

Exporting

Generate report on the Operations tab opens a transactions report with this Account already selected. See Reports.
