Receiving assets

How to get a deposit address on Ledger Enterprise, and how to verify it on your device before sharing it.

Role: Operators and Administrators.

To receive funds you need the Account's deposit address. The address shown in the browser is displayed by software. Only the device display is read from the secure hardware.

Open the receive window

From the Accounts list, use the Receive action on the Account's row. From the Account page, use the Receive action at the top.

The window shows the Account name and its asset, the Derivation path where the address has one, and the full deposit address. Until you verify the address, its status reads "Not yet verified on your Ledger Stax".

Bitcoin: choosing the address

A Bitcoin Account uses Dynamic or Static addresses. Account info shows which one.

Dynamic derives a new address for each payment. The receive window opens on the next unused address and shows its Derivation path. To show an earlier address, change the Index. You can choose any index from 0 to the one the window opened on. You then verify that address on your Ledger device as usual.

Static uses one reusable address, so there is no index to choose.

Why verification matters

The address in your browser is displayed by software, and software can be compromised. An address is long enough that a substituted one looks entirely plausible. An attacker able to change what your screen shows can redirect every deposit you receive, and on-chain transfers cannot be reversed.

Your device displays the address from the secure hardware itself. Comparing the two is the only way to know the address you are about to circulate is genuinely yours.

Warning: Verify on your device before sharing an address with a counterparty, and before saving it in your own systems. A deposit sent to an attacker's address is not recoverable.

Verify the address

  1. Select Review address.

  2. If no device is connected, you are prompted to connect and unlock it. This is a prompt, not an error.

  3. Follow the steps shown for your device.

  4. Compare the address on the device with the address on screen, character by character. The address stays visible in the browser throughout, precisely so you can compare side by side. Check the beginning, the end, and a section in the middle.

  5. Complete the review on the device.

The status then reads "Verified on your Ledger Stax", and the address and Copy address remain available.

Copying the address

Copy address is available as soon as the address loads. It does not wait for verification. After you select it, the button confirms the copy.

You can also select the address text and copy it with your keyboard. Neither way of copying requires verification. Verify the address on your Ledger device before you share it.

Closing during verification

You cannot close the receive window while the review on your Ledger device is in progress. The close button is hidden, and the window ignores the Escape key and any selection outside it. To end the review, complete it or reject it on the device.

Reopening starts from the beginning: the verified state is not remembered. A previous verification does not carry over.

If something goes wrong

What you see
What happened
What to do

An error in place of the address

The platform could not return an address for this Account

Select Retry. If it persists, contact support

"Could not get the address for index n."

The platform could not return the address for that Bitcoin index

Select Retry

"Not confirmed on your Ledger Stax"

Verification was rejected on the device

Select Review again. If the addresses did not match, do not use the address and contact support immediately

The connection was lost

Verification timed out, or the device was disconnected

Check the connection and retry

Important: A mismatch between device and browser is not a glitch. Stop, do not use the address, and contact support.
